Capital Blue Cross has an exciting opportunity for a student to work alongside our Salesforce team during the summer of 2025. Capital Blue Cross' internship program is looking for highly motivated, creative individuals with diverse backgrounds, superior academic credentials and significant personal achievements who are actively enrolled in an undergraduate or advanced degree program, to work in a challenging environment where contribution, teamwork and communication are vital to the success of the organization.

This is an opportunity to be part of our dynamic Salesforce Solutions team. Our software engineering interns will be integrated into our Agile team structure and viewed as part of the team by their peers. Interns will be expected to contribute as a member of our Scrum teams for future sprints, releases and project initiatives. With a need for speed to market and agility in our delivery model, we don't want our interns to sit on a bench as spectators; we want interns who will take initiative to dive in and use available tools to self-develop their technical skill set, and be active contributors to our team's delivery outcomes.

• Work with mentor to build an action plan that uses Trailhead tools self-direct and advance skill set and knowledge base of Salesforce, using a set of interactive, online tutorials. The intern will work with the mentor to determine, document, and execute on an agreed upon learning path. Salesforce Trailhead content is arranged in a hierarchy, with three levels; trails, modules, and units, and presented in a specific sequences; the intern will use Trailhead to successfully complete the learning tasks and pass the interactive assessments.
• Be an active participant on the Salesforce Solutions Agile development team. Under the guidance of a CBC mentor, the intern will be responsible for design, installation, testing, and maintenance of Salesforce code. The intern will participate in all Agile scrum ceremonies and will be subject to deliver per Agile Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Work with mentor and Salesforce Solutions peers to learn to CBC sales process flows. The intern will work effectively with the stakeholder community to participate in knowledge sharing sessions and learn how the business operates and how CBC is using Salesforce technology to automate and optimize business outcomes. The intern will provide input as knowledge is gained to help the team develop and solidify technical solution designs
• Paid internship positions are available and based out of our corporate office in Harrisburg.
• Interns will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of experiences through meaningful work assignments, observation opportunities, and social interactions.
• In the spirit of Capital Blue Cross, interns will be given the opportunity to complete a service project with one of our community partners.
• Interns will participate in ongoing company initiatives and be challenged to translate their classroom learning into fresh perspectives that positively impact our colleagues, members, and the communities we serve.
• Interns will have the opportunity to formally present the outcomes of their experience and share their unique perspective to our executive and extended leadership team.
• In an effort to provide students with feedback and continued investment in their growth, a variety of Capital team members will provide interns with periodic feedback and professional development programming.
• The internship program strives to provide interns with formal and informal opportunities for the interns to network with Capital Blue Cross staff and participate in company-wide learning events.

Position Requirements:

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate level program in one of the following majors: Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related field of study.
• Preferred GPA of 3.2 or higher (based on a 4.0 scale or equivalent thereof) 
• Ability to commit full-time to a 13-week program that runs May 19- August 15
• Strong written and oral communication skills 
• Ability to work in a team environment and handle multiple tasks. 
• Excellent analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to commit to an onsite or hybrid work schedule.

Location: 

• This position is classified hybrid, which requires onsite work on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
