The position is responsible for operation of various printing and finishing equipment, as well as responsibility for equipment and job set-up, processing production jobs, quality checking jobs, correcting minor equipment malfunctions, and advancing needs for vendor services as is appropriate.
Perform finishing work on documents, such as folding, cutting, shrink wrapping, or spiral binding.
Perform preventive maintenance by keeping the equipment clean and operating efficiently, clear jams and minor malfunctions, and maintain an adequate working inventory to meet production schedules.
Ability to perform preventative maintenance to ensure equipment is clean and operating efficiently with sufficient understanding the operation of mechanical equipment in order to perform minor troubleshooting in the event of equipment malfunctions.
Ability to work effectively as a member of a cohesive team as well as having the ability to work independently with little direct supervision.
Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information with discretion.
Must have the ability to operate a personal computer with proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office.
Basic reading and comprehension skills of written documents and instructions.
Experience:
Prefer 1 year of experience working in a mail room or sorting environment using electronic inserting machine/sorting equipment (preferably Bell & Howell) or experience in production environment.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Work Environment:
Frequent exposure to loud equipment, moving mechanical parts, and dust that may affect the respiratory system. Assist with special printing requests and is able to be on call after hours and the weekend.
Medium work (exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally OR up to 25 pounds of force frequently OR up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects).!!Activities involving stooping, reaching, stretching, bending, lifting, standing to operate machinery for an extended period of time, and working in environment that has machine noise factors and dust.
