Base pay is influenced by several factors including a candidate’s qualifications, relevant experience, and anticipated contributions to meet the needs of the business, along with internal pay equity and external market-driven rates. The Capital Blue Cross Legal Department consists of approximately nine attorneys. Among other things, the attorneys provide counsel to Capital Blue Cross and its affiliated companies regarding state and federal health insurance regulatory law, general corporate law, financial laws and regulations that relate to insurance companies, interactions with state and federal regulators, employment and personnel matters, contracts and negotiations with providers, contracts and leases, and general legal advice.
The intern will be able to enhance his/her educational experience and will benefit from providing assistance to the Legal Department with legal research and written advice related to the aforementioned areas of the law. The intern will also have an opportunity to attend a variety of business meetings related to the intern’s research and areas of interest, attend meetings related to Capital Blue Cross operations and become familiar with the business of health insurance.

Position Requirements:
The intern must be currently enrolled in a JD level program
A rising third year student and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Location:
This position is classified hybrid, which requires onsite work on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
