Position Description

Base pay is influenced by several factors including a candidate’s qualifications, relevant experience, and anticipated contributions to meet the needs of the business, along with internal pay equity and external market-driven rates. The salary range displayed has not been adjusted for geographical location. The Financial Systems Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting Capital Blue Cross' financial services department. They combine financial systems analysis, development, and reporting to support business strategies and improve financial operations. The position acts as a liaison between technical support teams and operational accounting teams. With a customer-first approach, the role is responsible for the development, configuration, documentation, and support of internal and vendor financial applications.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

  • The Financial Systems Analyst is accountable for the maintenance and continuous improvement of CBC financial systems and processes.
  • The position includes, but is not limited to, responsibilities related to the collection, transformation, integration, and accessibility of financial data.
  • This role is involved in the planning, scheduling, and execution of processes that underpin financial operations and overall system performance.
  • Within this position, you'll be supporting department steady-state processing while assisting in the implementation of various projects, enhancements, and release management efforts.
  • Conducts reporting and analysis of financial data using various techniques to support institutional processes while maintaining confidentiality and appropriately handling sensitive information with discretion.

Location: 

  • This position is classified hybrid, which requires onsite work on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. 

Knowledge:

  • Comprehensive understanding of Workday's Financials and Payroll modules, Accounting Center, Adaptive Planning, and/or Prism Analytics preferred.
  • Familiarity with project management processes and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of database management and system security policies.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Access, Excel Preferred).
  • Knowledge of various reporting and analysis tools (understanding of SQL, Power BI, Adaptive Planning, Crystal Reports, and/or Workday Reporting preferred).
  • Understanding of industry standard financial concepts and processes.

Skills:

  • Must be able to identify and communicate business needs and translate business requirements into technical and functional specifications.
  • Ability to create process flows and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently or as a team to design, document, test, and implement more complex systematic solutions to meet department needs.
  • Strong data analysis and reporting skills.
  • Ability to research, identify, and implement financial business process improvements.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and writing skills.
  • Highly organized and capable of working independently to solve problems and achieve results while self-directing work responsibly.

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of accounting, finance, or business/data analyst experience.
  • 1-3 years of health insurance or healthcare industry experience preferred

Education and Certifications:

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in: Accounting, Business, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
